Clutch inspection questions was created by jdburke
I’m chasing a rattle that you can hear with a stethoscope on the case directly behind the clutch housing area. This rattle is worse when the engine is cold, idling in neutral with the clutch engaged. Pull the clutch lever in and the noise almost completely disappears. Get the engine warmed up and noise is also almost completely gone. I’m sure I have some cam chain/roller noise issues, but, just to be sure, I’m going to pull my clutch assembly apart this evening for an inspection. (Already pulled the other side and checked the bolts and rollers on the starter drive clutch.) Is it possible, if they are loose and rattling, that a clutch hub damper spring rattle could be this temperature sensitive? And, while I’m in there poking around, is there anything out of the norm, (or what’s listed in the service manual) that I need to be looking out for?

Thanks for your assistance.
