Cranks are welded because when you do a jack-rabbit start, they tend to twist and the welds give them torsional strength. Once you have added weight, it is prudent to rebalance.

its a cheap insurance policy if you like to ride hard or launch on a regular basis with a sticky rear tire.trueness of the crank is more of a priority than balancing the crank.as long as the pistons are close it tends to cancel itself out,the little bit of material from welding is neglegible(spell check)since it is towards center of crank ;)

Still recovering,some days are better than others.

so after a hard launch you'r engines pistons won't meet the valves.

banging valves is mostly caused by missed shifts/over revving or bad valve springs not by twisted crankshaft
