I just replaced oil pan gasket on mine and i used a mini die grinder with a scotch brite pad made just for aluminum. It took me about 5 minutes to completly remove the old gasket.

Yeah a dremal with a wire wheel will make short work of an old gasket.

I bought some gasket remover today but got home too late to start working on it. The old gasket needed to be removed. The majority stayed on the engine case but there were several chunks that broke off. I'd rather put in the time to replace it than have to worry about leaks in the future. I already had a spare gasket on hand anyway.

Use some eye protection, you DO NOT want to get that stuff in your eyes, its like fire and can permanently damage them !!!!!
