Clutch cable adjustment

Question on adjusting the clutch cable on a KZ550M1. While down shifting I can feel it locking into each gear. I have added a couple of rotations to the cable at the handle end which has helped some but still can feel it especially in 1st. Should I back off what I have already done and take adjust at the motor end or is there a different issue here?
