oil light coming on after installing oil cooler was created by School Teacher
ok have a fresh top end 1075 with 410 cams and installed and oil cooler from a gpz. the light is off at idle and driving around EXCEPT when i get on it, thru 1-2-3 when i am on the decend from about 9 grand coming down the light stays on for about 4 seconds or until i rev it. thoughts please.

Did you add more oil to the bike when you added the cooler?
Cooler + lines = needs more oil to keep the oil level ...level
Don't go wild either I added maybe 1/4 of a quart or less to mine.
Others will chime in on this I'm sure ;)

I agree. You have to add some oil but put in a little at a time and watch the window. It doesn't take much but you definitely need to add a little extra.

the 1000 take something like 3.9 qts, I put the full 4 qts in and go with it

When you hit the gas the oil rushes to the back of the oil pan, and light goes on. Search the forums or archives, looking for a gate of some kind that fits in the oil pan. With the gate installed and you hit the gas, the oil rushes back but shuts the gate, keeping it in the proper part of the oil pan so the pump can keep it flowing.
