pushrod oil seal savior!! was created by Knuckles78
Upon discovery of a leaky pushrod oil seal and the man hours and effort needed to repair it (splitting the cases); my heart sank after my initial jubilation of my 1978 kz400 purchase. However, after scanning the kzrdr forum archives, my bike and my ego were saved. ibsen22000 gave great advice... If the seal is just leaking around the pushrod, one may get another smaller seal that fits the diameter of the pushrod and use an rtv silicone to adhere the new seal to the old seal. Brilliant!! My kz now does not leak a drop. A major fix that cost me about $5 (only b/c I had to by new blue rtv silicone). Thank you ibsen22000!!

Hi Knuckles,
You are apparently unaware of how significant your post, thanking Ibsen for his advice, is to the members of KZR.
Being a new member here it's understandable that you would not know that many of us are still adjusting to his loss. Here's a link to the thread. Ibsen22000.
I'd like to thank you for demonstrating so clearly that Ibsen's still with us.
Bill
