650 muffler was created by rdgrnr
Hey guys,
I posted in the classifieds about needing(wanting) a RH muffler (stock) for the 77 650. It has a scrape that bugging me..:( I searched the database for threads on suppliers, checked out MAC (don't like the looks and would have to switch both). Does anyone know of a source for just the muffler(s)? I've been watching ebay, but I'm not really interested in a whole system change as the front pipes on mine are mint (no bluing, rust, or dents)
Left muffler has spill streaks on it, but I can live with that, unless I come across a nice set.
Thanks

Are those removable on a 650? On my '79 750 the muffler and header pipe were a one piece assembly.

One head pipe is welded to each muffler and the other is clamped on each side.

you know i had a plastic bag wrap around mine. i took a dremmel and the tiny circular wire brush bit and it took all of it off and didn't scratch the pipe a bit.

Went and looked today, and you are right. :)
Looks like I will keep my eyes open for the #3 header pipe/muffler.

From what I can tell, I could make them work by cutting off the stock ones and replace them with these. Guess I will have to think about doing this to an otherwise good system.
Has anyone heard anything about the Dunstall replicas?
