After Six Years
07 Apr 2008 18:54
Since i am home now instead of touring the country in a truck i have had time to do projects in my shop.
I have been wiring the old "79" street fighter project. I got a chance to install the headers and carbs. After borrowing a gas tank off the Honda 50 and filling the carbs i spun the engine and it coughed. I switched the coil wires around and it fired right up. I had to put a plug in No. 1 but it ran fine.
I love that Kerker and those Andrews cams on top of those 1075 pistons.
The lights are next.
I haven't been able to find a bike to buy so i guess i will work more on this bike to get it going.
Gas is costing me $100.00 to drive to work for 11 days.

I hear ya on the gas deal. I'm spending that on gas also. But...whatcha going to do? Been a LONG time since I have seen a Z with a tracy body on it. Brings back memories. Looks like you have a good handle on it so far though. What cams are you running? Is that a 16" front wheel? Looks good!

The wheels came off a mid 80's 900 Ninja. I will have to buy some tires.I had to have a custom sprocket mad for it. It is made of alunimum and i don't know how long it will last. it cost $75.00 to have it made.
The cams are stage three. They were in the bike when i bought it. I didn't know until i rebuilt the engine.
This was my YEEEE HaWWWWW bike when i rode it. It's a blast.
