Will this work? was created by octanemoto
Hi,
As I'm trying to science out my KZ1000 project, I'm receiving alot of input. Has anyone tried this combo? A Web cam (#119 .384 lift 240 @ .050) with 34mm carbs off a Suzuki GS1100 with a Dyna S ignition. I was told by a coworker this was a "hot" set up to use with a 14 /38 gearing. Allegedly this had yielded some low 11 second ets. The person telling me this is sometimes less than accurate. Can anyone tell me if I had received some sound advice?

Thanks :)

I've never ran that combination but it looks like it should be capable of low 11's. Lot would depend on your riding skills also. Will the bike be stock bore? Any head work? I know of a guy who had a little bigger cams with light head work that was running 11.0-11.2 e.t.s years ago, so this should be in that range.

Sounds feasible to get low 11's. I remember way back in about 1981 or thereabouts the GPZ1100 became the first bike in completely stock trim to trip under 11 (it ran a 10.88). It had about 100 HP stock, it should be easy to dial up a 1000 to get that kind of power.
