ape armed with spanner meets oil pan bolt

I'm stripping a Z500 and have the block on a bench upside down. I've tried to remove the oil pan bolt and so far only managed to round the thing. It is VERY tight. I saw a piccy of it and was wondering if anyone knows whether it's a left hand thread 'cos I can't tell from the piccy.:( I've got all the other crankcase bolts out but can't move this, anyone got any bright idea's, I don't wasnt to use a torch on it in case I damage the cases:S Any advice most welcome. A friend suggested welding a bolt around it but I'm unsure as to the wisdom of welding steel so close to an Aluminium casing.

I feel your pain  check this thread out. The thread is regular. I got it out with a good quality 6 point socket (better grip than 12 point), a 2 foot breaker bar and some carefully applied brute strength :pinch:

I had the same problem. I ended up picking a slightly smaller SAE six point socket and filing the hex till it fit the smaller socket. Worked so well that it's still that way.
