i received a 1982 kz 750E last summer, i am rebuilding the motor and not sure if its original by the way the rest of the bike is looking, the cylinder and cams are stamped R1 can anyone help me with this? also im looking for the gpz oil pan for the oil cooler hook up, i drive the bike everyday and sit in heavy traffic, since its air cooled i wana try to keep the temp down

Just going from memory here but both the 650 and 750 cams have R1 stamped on the sprocket's face. It is unlikely that the previous owner would have swapped in 650 cams as they were a little milder than the stock 750 cams. Just to throw a wrench into this, if your exhaust cam doesn't have a machined gear on the inside of the #3 cam lobe, then they would be the best performing 750 cams, the Gpz 750's.

Keep an eye open on ebay for a Gpz pan as they are pretty rare to find.

yea it has a tach drive, i was just suprized on how fast this bike was then to find out i had a blown head gasket on #3 so cant wait to get the bike all back together
