Wow another exhaust question was created by kz750ohio
I have a kz750 ltd (82 model). I am thinking about putting a new exhaust on the old girl seeing I am spent so much time making her look like new. I was wondering what some of you think about these two exhaust systems. First one is a MAC 4 into 2 with the turn out pipes and the second is a V & H 4 into 1. Any input on how well they are made and what you think of them would be great.

cheers,

riding season is almost here and I am just a few weeks away from being ready. I will be posting some pictures once I am done.

I don't like either of them, sorry.
V&H 'used' to be a good company back-in-the-day, and now they're a t-shirt company that still makes stuff to sell off their name. Their quality has taken a huge dump in the last 15 years.
MAC has always been a 'budget' exhaust manufacturer, but if you're looking for turn-out pipes for a cruiser, those might not be a bad set-up...
...sorry my 2cents are sort of negative, but you "axed". :)

I have not experience with Vance and Hines but I put a MAC system on a kz440 a while back. They will work but just know that they are definately "budget" and nowhere near the quality of the stock exhausts. They are thin with super thin chrome on them.

Well I found me an exhaust to put on. I won a 650 exhaust system off of ebay with the cross over headers. chrome looks good on the headers but the mufflers need a little love which is fine by me. I will be putting the new oring chain and sprockets on tonight. Hopefully if everything goes right I should get the tank back from the paint shop at the end of the week. thanks for all the opinions.

cheers

Got a buddy who has about 15 bikes and really knows his classic metric bikes. Last summer he picked up a Vance & Hines pipe for his GS1000. Put the pipe on the bike and after five minutes of low rpm use all of the chrome plating on the four downtubes flaked off. He said it would have been more expensive for him to ship it back, pay customs duty so he decided to just strip them off and flat black them with a heat heat rattle can job.

I have had a Yoshimura pipe and it was great, The MAC pipe I now have is still holding up very well for the price I paid. Stay away from VH and invest your cash into a MAC. For the money, they are pretty much the best on the market from my experience.
