Just purchased a 2003 ZZR 600 in excellent condition. Can't find any info on horsepower. If anyone knows I'ld appreciate the info. Also no owners manual with the bike, need to find one, any suggestions
Thanks

Yeah, I worked (still do in the summers) in a shop that had the only dyno in town, so we got to see everything. The ZZR600 is the 600 Ninja from 2000 - 2002 and they would put-out low 90s on our dyno; a local guy piped and jetted his and got upper 90s, and his ran real good. For reference as to "how" our dyno reads I'll give you a couple other bikes to compare with: (bHp/torque)
'Busa = 157/99 (stock)
Blackbird = 136/80-ish (header, jetted-carb model)
ZRX = 99/ (don't remember tq)
TLR = 117/(don't remember tq), PC, full exhaust, BMC filter
ZX11 = 130/74 (stock)
'03 636 = 104 stock, 108 PC dyno-tuned, 112 full Micron and dyno-tune

If you want numbers on exact models PM me and I'll get ahold of Kent to see if we've done one.

PS> Remember that numbers will vary from dyno to dyno; but your bike's power does not. A dyno is a good tool for 'tuning'...too many people use the 'numbers' for bench racing and b/s like that. In the case of the ZZR600, it's a fast, dependable bike that makes really good power. It's only down a few ponies to the '08 hot-rods and is at least a match with torque (real world power)...my estimation is that they are a great bike.

The 03 ZZR600 is not the same as the 00-02 ZX6R. It's the same as the ZX6E from the 90's. The HP for a 95 'E' is around 85.

I think the 05+ ZZR600's are the ones your thinking of.

Oh? I'll take your word for it; he's not talking about the model with the large ram-air under-snorkel that stuck out right under the lights on the top fairing? I get confused about the ZX6R-transform-to-the-ZZR years...it's like they get kicked down to the B-team and they re-badge them 'ZZR'...must be why I like the naked bikes, eh? B)

Well, the E version has ram air, but a single headlight. See www.zx6e.net/forums/index.php?act=models
for a ZX6E/ZZR600 spotter's guide.
