Cam Sprocket question
26 Jan 2006 12:52
Sorry for the dumb question but..does the stock 76 Kz900 cam sprockets have a different number of teeth from the 77 or 78 Kz1000?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thank you. I thought I had seen a post recently from another member saying he was going to have to change the sprockets because of this very issue but I must have misread the post or perhaps it was addressing a later year of Kz1000?
Thanks again.

The 900s / 1000s NON MK2 have 30T sprockets and a 122 link chain. The MK2 crank has 32T sprockets and a 124 link chain.

I have a 77 KZ900, it has the 30 tooth cam sprockets, normally enough. I got another set of cams from a later model head that had 32 tooth sprockets, but you can unbolt the sprockets and change them out for the 30 tooth ones.
