Loose clutch hub?

Just wondering how much if any play is supposed to be in the clutch hub? You can move it a pretty good amount.

Is there a wear limit for this? It looks like it could be rebuildable if the rivots were drilled out.

I would love to feel how much play there is in one that is NOS because for all I know, they may start out with considerable play. They are rebuildable; see:

As far as I know, no one has found a suitable rubber or other flexible shock absorbing material that can be used to replace the worn out stuff that is OEM.
I suspect that replacing it with bolts/rivets and mounting it solid would lead to a short life for the transmission.
I need a 84-85 GPz750 Turbo clutch basket because the rubber dampers in the clutch basket are shot (the missing pieces were caught in the oil pump screen), and nothing else will work except a 750 Turbo clutch basket
Zero play when new, the more play there is the more black bits are in the oil pan.
The Turbo manual specifies the limit for the amount of play (but I don't recall at the moment what it is), and I assume the other manuals would list it as well.
