I am curious as to what the total estimated expenditure will be for upgrading to 810cc.
So, if the bike to start with is in perfect running order; is it just the kit and outsourcing the boring of the cylinders? Anything else hidden in there? I am wondering how much of the "extra" parts I have laying around here I need to sell...

base gasket, cam cover gasket(pricey) o rings on the top and base of the barrels, there is a couple of rthe oil restrictors and a couple on 2 of the studs. shave the head, i knocked 30 thou off mine just started cutting into the edge of the valve seat insert and apparently it realy wakes it up but i didnt have anything to compare it too beforehand, mine lifts the front wheel in first with just throttle in a very untuned state. look at a rejet and maybe some pipes.

Who's porting your cylinder head? Which one are you going to use the 650 or 750 head?

I don't know if I will port the head, I'm thinking about trying to keep some kind of mid range, if I use a 650 head the comp ratio will be higher, smaller ports and valves will keep the A/F speed up for a better mixture and a bit more mid range, the 750 head will give a bit lower compression and slower A/F speed, will sacrifice some mid range, a ported head may give more top end but might make it difficult to ride in traffic, I haven't really decided yet, but if I port one I will probably do it my self, just a basic port and pocket clean up, I have a bunch of cash in it now and I have a few other bikes(6) and a chevy

Just finished an 810 build myself. I chose to slightly port the stock head. Had valves refaced, with gpz cams up top. Should be a pretty potent little motor. I am still saving for my full dyna ignition before I can fire it up. I will let you know how she rides!
