Black light stress crack test

Hello Does any one know the name for testing metal with special black light die and a black light. To find stress cracks. My boss told be about magna fluxing but I don't have the money too buy that setup. And the black light setup is supposed too work really well. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with my crank but I want too check it just for piece of mind since the engine will be raced hard. And I would like too have it for other projects in the future.

or if anyone knows of a good cheep magna flux setup please let me know

The dye system is used for alum or other non ferrous metals, if you are concerned about cracks in the crank the magna flux system is the way to go, you should be able to find just about any auto machine shop that can do the job for you, or to get it checked to make sure its still true you might call Falcon or Ape jay, I am sure they could take care of any issues you might have

Dye Penetrate Inspection is what it's called, but it only finds surface cracks while Magnaflux will find interior cracks.

it should cost about $60 ,i think, to have the crank magnafluxed. if u post your location someone may be able to direct u to a local shop.
