oil fitting conversion.. help
19 Feb 2008 20:23
got a bigger cooler from a newer z750 and the old lines dont match up. Old cooler had AN style fittings, new cooler has oring type compression fitting.
Is there a brass fitting made by someone that will change the oring style to AN style?
here is a pic of the old cooler and the new line (chrome-it is not long enough to reach the motor) and the old line (bottom)

Is it possible to just switch the fittings between the coolers or are they soldered in place?
If they are soldered in place take it to a radiator shop and see if they can do it.
That old line from your angle looks like a simple flare fitting, although it may be double flared like a brake line and your friendly neighborhood mechanic should be able to make a new line up for you if you don't have a flaring tool. This is providing that the fittings came be switched to begin with.

I dont know of any adaptor that will make that work, you may have to change out the lines, should be able to get some nice ones made with the right fittings at a hose shop

You could try Aeroquip if you can get a hold of them. I haven't dealt with them in years.
