The bike is a 1980 spector. This bikes starter was spinning but would not start. To make sure of this I pulled the stator cover off of the left side, pulled the plugs, and hit the starter. The starter spun, the intermediate gear spun, and the rotor gear spun, however the rotor did not. So face with this I thought (easy fix, pull rotor and install new starter clutch kit) which is what I did. I purchased the starter kit from old bike barn in which they sent new rollers, push rods and springs. This job went off with out a hitch; I did not even get an oil leak from the stator wire rubber. Here at long last is the problem; the clutch started slipping again three days latter. I pulled it back apart and there it was, every thing spinning over except the rotor its self. So, any thoughts, what is my next move?
