chain to belt drive

Has anyone converted a chain drive bike to belt drive?I'm rebuilding a 1980 KZ 750 LTD H-1 4 and thought it would be pretty trick to convert it to belt drive. Are there kits on the market or do I need machined parts?Or, is this just not possible? There is a 1983 kz 750 K-1 2 cylinder that is belt.Could those parts be compatible with my bike?Maybe I should just ditch the idea.Someone please,I need info.:silly:

I am bumping this one to bring it back to the top. Although no one answered up, maybe there is some information now available.

This idea is appealing to me. One of the respected members on the honda sohc site says that Gates tested belt drive setups for Kawasaki many years ago, while he was working in Denver for Gates. Seems like an idea that is worth investigating further.

the thing about a chain as opposed to a belt is that I can do a roadside repair on a broken chain. not sure but can you do that with a belt??
