... I like a product called Polane by Sherwin Williams. It is a simple two part Poly Urethane and it is impervious to vertualy every chemical you will ever get on the engine. It is available in gloss and in any color. Because it is available in gloss it will stay looking nice. My company has used all three of these products on aircraft hi temp parts and there is no comparrison between them. But we are speaking of engine parts and not of exhaust headers.

Noticed several "clear" versions of Polene being available, and reportedly okay on metals including aluminum.

Any performance reports at hand regarding application on polished aluminum?

Thinking engine covers and fork legs. :)

These my kz1000 header that was painted last year.
There was about 20 runs on them at the track. The headers was sanded clean and 2 coats of paint. Por paint is what I used on 4 of my car engine blocks to.

My kz1000 frame was painted por 15 rust bloss black paint. A lot of car shops use these paints. Por 15 did not become soft for me never had anything go wrong with there paint. I use few other, this what work for me. If it became soft, it could be how it was put on.

I did let the headers sit for about 2 to 4 days. before in I install them on the bike.
