Pic of disassembled Kerker

Looks like the one I got off ebay has a 1" Competition Baffle which I've packed with some fibreglass. Should sound alright.

Does anyone have a noise comparison between this baffle and the regular long one? I prefer to be quieter...

I just went to a kitchen supply place and got some of those donut shaped scowering pads and slipped them over the baffle. I think 4 made the sound I wanted.....chris3

inline79, standard baffles and end caps are still available from various sources, Dennis Kirk, etc. I run this standard baffle tightly wrapped to keep it fairly quiet.

My Kerker is too quite. You can hear it in the video link in my signature.
I've tried removing the baffle a few times, but after 20 years, she doesn't want to let go.

Since I have it off this Winter, I may just throw on a V&H exhaust I have from my brother's C3. It should have some volume to it.

Amen to that. When I got my kerker, I pulled all of the packing off, and drilled about 6-holes in the end of the cover. When I feel like it, I often ride around with the baffle removed:evil:  God I love that sound!!!

You guys should get Harleys :P Best thing I've ever done the last 30 yrs on these KZs is remove the Kerker and return to stock. It's just relaxing to ride now with less noise.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I guess I could do that. Oh ya, but my stock exhaust is drilled out too:P . Was done by the previous owner.

I love my 1100GPZ with it's Kerker, but sorry, IMHO, Nothing sounds as nice as a Conti piped bevel drive Ducati V twin, circa 1970's - 80's.

i do have two harleys as well as bikes from some other countries, and i think Stock Suck's.but i do appreciate guys that buy bikes new and keep them stock or return them to stock.(different strokes for different folks.)that way i can show them to younger guys and show them why we modify our bikes for more performance.instead of leaving them as the turds that the factory originally intended us to have.:P
