Alcoa aluminum makes a similar product it works i have used it.it is acid based with a thickening agent to make it cling to the part.i have only seen it in large truck stops and truck accessory shops.they also make a complete KIT that includes the cleaner/polish/clear coat finish.

I've used Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish. It takes a few minutes of elbow grease, but I've never seen anything shine aluminum better. It might not take long with one of those foam ball buffers for an electric drill. I dunno.

Well the UPS guy showed up late Tuesday with this stuff and I promptly grabbed a part and headed to the kitchen sink. I hate to admit it but I got sucked in, this stuff is useless crap that doesn't seem to do anything. I'm more disappointed than pissed because I was really hoping this would work as advertised.
Save your money guys this stuff is NOT the holy grail of old Kaw restoration.

I'm usually not a grass is greener on the otherside type of guy, but I always thought that older vehicles(i.e. my 1100, scout, and bultacos)always seem to run better when they were a little dirty/muckey. Besides dust/dirt/grime seems to help hold some stuff together. My scout being a prime example of that. Just a thought.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Hoosier Metal Polish.
It's not the Holy Grail, but better than Mother's and easier to use.
I've had a few friends buy it and they say it's the bee knees!

Thanks for the report.
Any chance of it having a description of the active ingredient(s), such as some type of acid, etc. (so we might consider formulating our own perhaps stronger mixture)?
Seems to me some type of mild aluminum etching liquid (acid) could be formulated to experiment with as to concentration strength, working time before rinsing, etc.
No chemist here, but do know muratic acid is not good on aluminum.

I was thinking you'd be disappointed..... I'm a gunsmith and I ordered some cleaner called Slip 2000 carbon killer because they claimed it made burned on carbon "wipe away" and showed a revolver cylinder before and after where it went from black to shiny with no scrubbing.Well the UPS guy showed up late Tuesday with this stuff and I promptly grabbed a part and headed to the kitchen sink. I hate to admit it but I got sucked in, this stuff is useless crap that doesn't seem to do anything. I'm more disappointed than pissed because I was really hoping this would work as advertised.![]()

How did you use it? Just spray it on and let it sit, or scrub with a scotchbrite?
The company kind of throws out a disclaimer saying it may not work on different types of aluminum alloys, blah blah blah.
Well, thanks for trying it out. Something good will come your way because of this.
