Crate Engine

I have been putting off stripping donw my bike to find out what happened to my engine so that it does not run anymore. The main problme with me doing this is i am about as technicaly sound as a bag of hammers. A freind mentioned maybe picking up a remaned engine or some kind of crate motor. This sounds much more along the lines that i can do (direct swap). I was wondering if anyone new of a website or catalog that you have seen any type of running engine for a kz1000. Any help would be awesome. thanks alot in advance.

Is it for sure the engine's hopeless? Any details available as to what symptoms were seen, heard and felt between running and not running? Maybe it's just out of gas. :lol:

dont give up yet. it could be something that you could be walked through. what were the symptoms before it stopped running? clicking, ticking, banging, sparks, fire? there are alot of very knowledgable people here. I'm not the brightest bulb, but can hold my own with most repairs. Please elaborate a little.

If you do get one from Joe you could always rebuild yours and see what happens.
