do you jean you havent bolted the header pipes on yet? or just the mufflers.

not having the headers on would definetly cause valve warping, even if you only ran it for a minute.

but yeah, awsome, i hope you soon get to enjoy the torqueyness of your csr cams either out on the road or in the garage with the front wheel up against the fridge:evil:

No mufflers.... Now all I have to do is paint the frame, clean the grime off the engine, play with the clutch, paint the tins, do the lighting, mount the new shocks, find the leak in the forks, adjust the jets, put the cool stuff on.........BUT THE ENGINE RUNS!!!!

If you are going to clean and paint the frame and other parts of the bike, check out POR-15/POR-20 paints I used there paints over the years from car motors to frames brakes and more. Also you may find some on ebay to. But check the site out real good to they have items for clean parts and motors to. The paints holds up very good. Lot of auto body shops use there paints. Also very good paint for boats to. I have bought from the top 3 site in the pass.

The frame on my bike listed in kzrider I use por paints. The begaining of last year.If your not going to powder coat. It came out very good and took to the frame hard to mark up-this a plus like powder coating.

I no when, I got my kz1000 back together and running
I fell a sleep right by it my wife to be soon came out in the back room and cover me up and the bike this was funny. She said my 2nd love it's ok you can have her to.

A small can 18oz will do 10 frames maybe.

You can compare pricing.

Why would valves warp? Never heard of it and done that a few times since ´1980:huh:

Valve warpage due to running with no exhaust
is not a certainty, but it is likely for the valves
that stop in the open position.

Cool air will flow around the edges of a valve that is open, and if the
motor ran long enough
to get that valve hot, then the rapid cooling
of the edge of the valve is likely to
cause it to warp.

Running a motor with no exhaust pipes for a few seconds is less likely
to warp any valves
than running the same motor for several minutes.

i thought by referring to no exhaust i thought he was running it straight out of the engine head, that would definetly warp a valve if the valves got hot.

No, but I have done many stupid things in getting it back together. The last one was putting the cams on with one of the valve shims not seated and blowing it to smitherines!!!!!
