ok, is the fuel injected model a j head with 1015cc?
just asking cuz the valve covers are so different. any way does it have a pin chain? hyvo? any differences between years did the fuel injected model then go j model in 81 if the 80 is not a j head?

No J until 1981. The fuel injected KZ1000G was the same basic engine as the 1979-1980 ST, MK11 and the 1980 1000LTD.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
