My z650E1 slips out of first gear into neautral if I pull away quickly Does anyone know why this might be happening and what I can do about it?

I can welcome you to the forum, but I can not advise you on transmission issues, and that is in all likelihood what you are describing. I have never cracked a case, but I will probably give it a shot this year.

I would suspect that you have a bent shift fork. It's possible that if this has been going on for a long time the engagement dogs have been worn down.
Do you have a manual? If not you'll need one.
