Hi I have a 83 Kawasaki GPZ 750 that I am rebuilding.
The original owner of the bike dropped it on the right side and damaged the casing. So I was thinking that I would swap the cases out with a good set and replace the cam chain at that time. My question to anyone is how difficult is it to move everything over to the new cases. Would it be just to much work and cause more problems. My other option would be to use a cam chain with a master link and weld up the existing case and re-tap some of the bolt holes. Thanks in advance.

As long as you have a complete gasket set, all the appropriate seals (they are not included in the gasket set), the required tools, and a Factory Service Manual (available online to download), you should be able to do it.
