Wierd exhaust, need opinions was created by kzmason
I just picked up this exhaust on feeBay. It was described as being for a KZ900 or KZ1000. It is different than any I have seen before and was wondering what people thought or if they knew what it was.

Not sure the brand but I'm with Wiley; got any more pics?

Its a 4-2-1 pipe which I only know is made by a few companies but they're usually European and have better collector design than the pipe you got. Could possibly be custom made?

dont know about the name but you are going to have to pull it off to change the oil,

pull it off to change the oil


You'll get used to it. It's a bit of a pain, but when I had a Yosh pipe on my bike and needed to take it off each time to do an oil change, it becomes routine. I bet the Yosh was a little lighter though.

is designed to work with 360 degrees pulses of cinder 1 an 4 an 2+3 an not 1=2 and 3+4 (=180 and 540 degrees) should benefit of more smoother engine characteritics:woohoo:

I've seen those before but can't remember the brand either. I know car headers were moving that direction a few years ago. Suppose to get better torque from them which is what you would want on the street anyway. I bet it will have a different sound to it also. Put it on, take a ride and see. If you don't like it, you can always sell it. That's the fun in this...

Thanks for info. The only thing the ad said was that it was for kz900 and kz1000, that it was new, and something about 'ti mac'...?

I think it is a MAC or MC it is a Tri Y design supposed to give better bottom end torque.if you dont like it i might trade a black kerker for it.

Maybe it has some effect on engine performance but I searched for that kind of header for months. That construction gives you 50mm / 2" more ground clearance. If you change front forks and swing and change to modern rim sizes it will affect most probably bikes ride-height.
Z1000R ´83...Slightly modified...
