I know the 750 exhaust cam has a a solid ring/lip on it just a little bigger diameter than the rest of the cam close to the sprocket. Its easy to see and its noted in the manual. Also don't put the cams in without the retainer buckets in lol. I suggest you stop everything until you get the proper info from the book. That will make everything much easier.

lol, sorry 17mm on the bigger inner nut, shows how much i know ..the exhaust cam has the tach drive on it, thats how i knew. Dont worry though if your mechanically inclined enough you can do it without a manual, I wouldnt reccomend it, but i just rebuilt my top end without a manual using online info and a kz1000 manual from the 80s of my dads lol. Shes still running great.

gpz cams do not have a tach drive
