GPZ cams in 78 KZ 650???????? was created by odl666
I have rebuilt the head on my kz 650, polish and ported as well as being milled 25 thousanths, I was wondering if i use the kz 650 cam sprockets will i still need to degree the cams? or will i be able to install them how the manual tells me. I am using a veserah head gasket and a ape chain tensor. Also what is my new redline gonna be for my 650.
Thanks

since you have done all that work, why not go ahead and degree the cams in, you will like it

You don't "have" to degree the cams, but the chances of the timing being accurate are slim to none :)

Redline is determined by a number of factors, it's impossible for me to tell you at what rpm your motor is going to self destruct.

Assuming you used new GPz750 or aftermarket springs, then I'd guess 10.5k would be safe, but I can't guarantee anything.
