With the Wiseco 1105 kit for the J motor, I have heard of it having problems (sleeves are really thin after boring that far), but I have not heard of a similar problem with the 810 kits, and there are a number of members that have them (working on one myself).
Of course improper assembly will make any motor burn oil.

I Heard the same thing quite a few years ago on the early kits. Wisco useg 1.8mm rings they did not create enough preassure on the cylinder wall and therefore did not scrape the oil propperly. Wisco got smart shortly after and replaced the rings with 1mm rings and that created more surface tension due to the smaller contact area. I have a RC Engineering 1105 kit in one of my Z1Rs in the stock sleaves. I installed it back in 1979 and never had a single problem. I was told the same thing about the 1105/1103 kits years ago;)

As Otakar says, the early kits had problems, but they are a well sorted kit now.

Hi,
I installed a 1015cc Wiseco on my J as it represented a cheaper rebuild option than stock and I have not had any oil burning problems at all.
