KX dirt-bike question was created by Sandy
Not KZ,but it IS Kawi...
My Son is looking at a 92 KX250...
What kind of compression do We want to see when We DO a compression test, when We take a closer look at it?
What is the minimum amount, before a Person should walk away from it?
The bike DOES need some work, and a few parts, but the price IS in Our range.
Thanks GangB)

not sure what the compression should be, but as long as it starts up and runs, it's probably worth it if it's a good price. top end rebuilds on dirt bikes are almost routine maintainence and pretty easy. If you can, take off the left side engine cover and grab the mag and wiggle it up and down to see if the crank has a lot of play. If you get into a bottom end rebuild it's a lot more time and $$... I just rode my 14 yr old cousins 97 KX80 a couple weeks ago.. woo-hoo!! It's been a long time since I've ridden a fast dirt bike... what a blast and it was only an 80!

I agree, if it runs its probably fine. A bike that age will probably need a rebuild no matter what. I would suggest throwing a new piston and rings in it just so you know the top end is fresh. Two strokes are really easy and cheap to do top ends on. I have a Yamaha Banshee, 2 cyl, 2 stroke. yeeehaaaaa....
