Oil level window clouded up

My oil level window is so coulded up I can't see the oil. Is there a fix for this, or another method of checking for proper oil level?
Also, what's the oil capacity on this engine?

I assume that the cloudiness you're seeing is milky. If so it's the result of moisture in the oil which can result from the bike being stored outside but more likely is the result of the motor repeatedly being run and then shut off before it gets thoroughly warmed up. Don't make the mistake of thinking that a few miles is all it takes. Once you make sure it has oil, take it out for a fifty miler. I bet the sight glass clears up after that.

If it's the same as mine it should be about 3.7 qts with filter.

All good advice. Like said, the oil if not warmed up will fog the window. If all else fails you can remove the cover and clean the glass. It wipes right off. The problem is not a bad sight window, it's buildup that if won't go away on it's own will need to be addressed.
I start with 3 quarts on an oil change, then check oil level. Around 3.3-3.5 quarts with filter is what it takes. Subtract about .3 quart if not changing filter. I change filter only every other oil change and have for 300 plus thousand miles.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Same here Ron, I start with 3qts and add as necessary. I also change filter every other change. I change oil every 1,000 miles. My engine has NEVER seen dirty oil in 27 years!
