chain links???

anyone know how many links are in a chain for a kz 650d?

102 comes to mind?

It's 102 links. There's a NOS Kawasaki endless chain on ebay right now. I highly recommend this chain over modern chains. (Don't know exactly why I guess, but I've used both and prefer the endless). Yes you need to remove the swingarm. Well worth it because it needs clean and lube anyway. This is like a $400 chain through Kawasaki. By the time you fight that damn bastard master clip on a modern chain, plus break your old chain to remove it, you could be quicker to just remove the swingarm and use the endless.

thanks for the help guys. like i have always said, ask the pro's, the guys who own the bikes, not the bike shop. local kawa shop said 110

110 ?? Did they try to sell you an extended swing arm with the chain??

Probably trying to flog old stock, sell 110, cut to 102.

actually when it comes to the old kawa's i have found they are complete idiots.

If you're using the stock tooth sprockets, www.buykawasaki.com should list the chain type and how many links it needs to be.

If you have a 650 D it should be a 102 links using the stock 16/40 sprockets.
