Stock pipes with pod airfilters?

ok after my mishap yesterday on the 650, i decided to put the stock pipes back on, because the v&h header got some road rash. Will i run into any problems running the stock pipes with pod's? I thought i read somewere that you can't run pods with stock pipes? I dunno, i just wanna make sure everything will be ok.

I don't see a reason that you can't run pods and a stock pipe. You may have to rejet the carbs to somewhere between stock jetting and the jetting you had for the 4-1.

Run it like it is and check the plugs. That'll let you know if you need to rejet or not.

If you've rejetted for the pod filters and header, then with just the pod filters, you should go back to the jetting you had before. If you never rejeted for the pod filters and header, then you were running the engine lean.

I put on pods with stock exhaust 26 years ago and had dealer rejet ($16) and bike ran great, installed Kerker and went back to stock air box with K&N filter. Running SAME jetting today and bike runs great! Guess things balanced out? ;)

I was rounding the corner at the end of my block, and slid on some sand or real fine gravel  . The bike slid on the right side with me under it for abot 10 feet. I came out better than the bike, but i did have on a HJC full face helmet, a mesh jacket with the armour on the shoulders and elbow's, and a set of deerskin gloves. The 650, the points cover got scrached to shit, but that's an easy fix, i can just repait glassy black again. I bent the drag bars a bit, and put a few scratches on the tank. The V&H header took the grunt of it though, mainly because i didn't have the baffle in it:whistle:  , honest officer i just took it out to repack the baffle:evil:  . That kinda got flatened on the side, but i did manage to bang it out so it's semi-round again. But i didnt really plan on keeping the green real long, im going to paint it blue and silver, kinda like the gpz's layout. But that will come over the winter.
