Interesting valve timing question... was created by scorpio
Hi people, my bike is some kind of KZ750...maybe you remember it from here:
kzrider.com/component/option,com_joomlab...11/id,164628/#164628
I am impressed with something - when i adjust my camshafts the way it is said in the manual (the two marks on the sprockets horizontaly aligned to the head's surface and the mark on the intake shaft's sprocket put between 45-46 pin of the chain counted from the pin above the other (exhaust camshaft's sprocket) mark - then the bike starts really very very hardly, engine runs bad, compression is very low...and so on...Then I made one desperate step (after long time wondering what is wrong) I adjusted the timing chain with 1 pin clockwise ahead - now the bike starts almost with no problems, engine runs many many times better, compression is almost two times higher. What is the reason of that ? Why my bike works good with the camshaft chain fitted this way (improperly in fact)? I'm very anxious...
And I'm not sure if this is the best setting now? Any sugestions are welcome.
