Quick Turn Throttle? was created by bkitchen
Has anyone ever modified their stock throttle to make it a little quicker? Is there a way to add some to the cam to make it pull quicker(less wrist rotation)?

Motion Pro has a 1/4 turn throttle. I've seen them used on dirtbikes, but not streetbikes. :S

I had a quick throttle on my old BSA - 1/4 turn was WFO. It was very touchy, especially pulling away from a stop light up a steep hill, but eventually I got used to it. The biggest problem was when I would hit an unexpected pothole with the front tire - if it bounced the handlebars sometimes I'd end up with more throttle than I wanted just as the rear tire was hitting the same pothole. Personally, I wouldn't want one on a more powerful bike for normal street use. Ed

I'm not talking something that radical. Just a little quicker.

It would be easier to make the pivot on the carbs smaller to get where you want to be, you want a smaller radius there. You could cut or grind the arc smaller and then mount some plates on the sides to keep the cable from slipping off. Or is it possible that piece is smaller on one of the other bike models??
It's the same as changing the gear ratio on your sprockets and chain,,, bigger front sprocket or smaller rear sprocket makes the wheel turn faster.

Thats more what I am looking for Milkman. I googled it and saw someone had done it on a newer R1 and was wondering if somebody had done it to these bikes. They worked from the throttle side actually by making the radius of where the cables went around bigger. They made an insert out of PVC I believe.
