clutch cable swap
27 Sep 2007 16:04
i'm going to swap out the clutch cable since i am replacing my stator and the covers will be off. just checking to see if all cables have similar ends (connections). I've been looking on z1 and they say "if you want a shorter cable try...". Does it really matter which one i get or will they all fit. I think the one i have on there is the 58incher. I'm gonna through on the super bike bars, would a 50" cable be too short?
traded my classic Kz's for a 2001 Kz1200r

Install your new bars. Take the old cable, which is still attached at the lower end, and rount it like you want it and hold it up to the clutch lever. Mark it with tape and when you take the old cable off you can measure it for the correct length. Remember to make sure the cable does not bind when turning the wheel full right and left which would happen if it was too short.....chris3
