Must be an '80. My Z1R motor is a 1978 with a motor # of 005583.

It shouldn't be too hard to tell if it is a 78 or an 80 motor. If you have the 80 that would make it a MKII motor the engine covers are much different. The trans cover curves are more angular and the clutch adjustment cover is not tear drop shaped. Also the 80 motor would have the pollution control valve cover where the 78 would not.
