starter runs, motor does not: HELP

I am in desparate need of some help.

I have a 1987 KZ1000 police bike and an '80 440.
My 1000 was blowing oil all over my pants a couple weeks ago and so I pulled it apart and replaced the head and cover gaskets. I was careful to set the timing chain and torque everything as specified in the Clymer manual.
I reassembled it and now I can't get it to fire.

I believe that I'm getting gas.
I've pulled the plugs from the head and seen the spark. (though it looks weak to me)
And as they are out, I can feel the air pumping from the cyl.

HELP ME-

I can run the starter but I get no cough of ignition.
I can spray starter fluid into the airbox and get no cough.

Could my spark be too weak?
Could it be that I reconnected a hose incorrectly?
Is there a chance of a loose wiring connection?
I just don't know what may be going on that would cause this.

Recheck any electrical connectors you may have disconnected and recheck you cam timing they could be in there 180 degrees out and she isn't going to start like that......You wouldn,t be the first fellow to put them in wrong way around and if you did you won't be the last...I know this the hard way....
