Hi, my ´84 GPz550 is leaking some oil from the cylinder base, right side. I suspect a faulty gasket and perhaps the cylinder oil line O ring as well.
Anyway, I intend to disassemble the whole cylinder and covers and replace all the gaskets from the base up. I am having some trouble finding the gaskets for this particular bike, and the question is if the top end gasket kit for the older (1981) KZ-GPz550 can do the job. I found a parts dealer here in Argentina who has plenty of Vsrah brand top end kits but for those slightly older bikes.

If anyone has good advice on this one, it´ll be most appreciated.

Hi Sergio - good to see you again riding a different 550:)
I don't know anything about the Vesrah gaskets as I haven't needed any yet but you could contact Jeff at Z1 for anything you needed - I think he ships parts worldwide:

Hi kawadruida,

I checked your bike's parts list and diagrams on the Kawasaki web site. Did you know Kawasaki has this feature?

I got your gasket number and entered it in my cross reference software. The gasket fits all the bikes below. Check the Kawasaki web site to be sure, they list a few different numbers for base gaskets, I'm not sure why. I say chances are it fits, good luck.

Thanx guys for your concern!

I will get the gaskets for the 1981 KZ550 and give it a shot, they look sooo much alike to me...

Wish me luck!

I was having trouble finding gaskets for my 1983 550 LTD (KZ550C4). It seemed like everything I found on eBay covered practically every model but mine.

Finally I emailed one of the sellers and it turned out they had a complete gasket kit for my exact model, they just didn't have it on eBay. The company was Speed Moto . I ended up ordering some other parts from them at the same time. They were very friendly and helpful.
