hey, i just bought a '76 kz900 and did the usual tune up stuff (carb clean + sync, timing, etc.). runs great and very smooth..until i rev it. i've never had one of these before but i noticed that when i'm over 5500 r.p.m. it seems pretty vibey. it's not crazy but most of my experience with fours (cb's, yam r6) have shown them to be smoother. is this normal for one of these? and yes, all bolts are tight. thanks.

I have a 650 that when it reaches the rpm the mirrors get a little fuzzy but I can see clearly out of them. It sounds pretty normal for a bike that age, have fun with it. Put some Gumout valve and carb/ injector cleaner in it, makes it run smoother!

The KZ900/1000s vibrate a little.The bikes vary
in amount depending upon the acuracy of the press-
ed together crankshaft.A trued and balanced crank
helps alot. Also, heavy bar end weights take some of
the vibes out.Old hard handlebar grips will transmit
more vibration, foam or gel grips help.

thanks for the input, i figured it was probably par for the course. i also noticed that there is almost no rubber mounting on the bike. i'm used to nortons and xs650s so vibes aren't exactly an issue!
