Hi Gary - Welcome to Kzrider.

It might be worth checking out the classified section of our site. You might get lucky with a salvageable motor.

We have a few members from the B.C. Washington state areas that might be able to offer you some advice on parts sourcing for your rebuild.

Do you know what is wrong with the bottom end?

Being that you have a 79 you might be out of luck. Unless it's an LTD those motors are getting hard to find. I'll have a spare bottom end next month I'll sell you. U2U me and let me know what you need.

make sure the noise isnt a simple fix. i cleaned my tank and fuel lines and adjusted carbs and ended up changing my engine from a diesel to a redliner
