So I bought this motor... HELP!
09 Aug 2007 23:55
After my 650C1 got stolen I've always wanted to build another KZ but have been to busy working on my '06 636 street fighter. Anyways, I ended up getting this motor for 40 bones. This clucth cover is flat towards the front which makes me believe that it's a 900/1000/1100 & it has electronic ignition so it's gotta be around mid seventies correct? The block reads "KZT00AE112591" on top of the tranny towards the left side. Am I getting warm? Second of all, what would it take to put this into a 550 or 650 frame, I've saw it done but do you have to be a rocket scientist or somethin'? I can't wait to build this thing! Ya'll have a good one.

zedder.com documents many of the engine numbers. You might be able to look up the engine number there.

I guess you can stuff a big motor into
anything if you try hard enough.At our
local motorcyle swap meet A guy had a
Rupp mini bike with an old 650 Triumph
twin in it.The cc of your motor will
be cast on the base of the cylinder.
903=1973-1976.1015=1977-1980.If it has
vacume hoses on the cam cover it is 1979
or newer.If it has rubber in the front
motor mounts it is a 1981 or newer.Either
a 998cc or 1098cc I believe.

Nope, the chassis is sitting here but the donor bike with the motor is still in Omaha.
I'm working on getting it picked up and hauled back here next week, just got to get hold of wireman/plummer
(I lost his contact info)
There is a 79 KZ650D SR here with a GPz750 motor in it, does that count?
