I found a local guy selling his 77 1000A which has VM29 carbs, Kerker, fresh rubber, 1075 kit, Dyna, Andrews cams, ect. overall condition is Frankensteinish with a Z1 front end and relativly rough overall appearance but it's a daily driver with a solid engine package and in need of cosmetic restoration to make it a looker.

best part. the 'shed' out back has the rest of package ......1979MkII..complete bike but literally in 5 gal buckets, stripped chassis, complete motor, oem exhaust in nice cond. cases, no broken fins, ect. one side cover fell victim to the family puppy as well as the rubber foot pegs but the motor looks great as I found it, nice paint, ect. tank has a bit of cancer in the badge area but will fix up.

I've been keeping my eye open for a MKII to replace the one I had to regretibly sell as a younger man when I went in the military almost 20 years ago. And with the prices on these I'm pumped to find one complete for the price I paid which was next to nothing for both bikes. Once the 77 is sold it will finance the resto on the MkII. I've always liked reading the stories about 'barn finds' and the like and wondered if I would ever happen across anything similar and today I did. though I would share.

Update on the current project 771000A....chassis went off to powder coat, and I'm glass beading the cases this week and will decide what finish if any they will recieve. the P/C company has a call into Dupont to see about the yellowing on clear powder coating the engine if this will be an issue or not.

Congrats on your score, sounds like you hit the mother lode. Local is always good and so is paying next to nothing. Also being able to replace a lost love is nice as well. But you know the rules.....We need pics:whistle: :P
