Cam timing question...74 Z1 was created by bLodi
I just pulled my cam cover off and was inspecting my cam timing and was wondering...Should the cam marks be horizontal when the crank is on the "T" mark or on the "F" mark?
Right now they are on the "F" mark and I think that might be wrong and they need to be "retarded" one tooth so they line up at the "T" mark.
Thanks for any help.

I just did mine yesterday and set them on the T mark. I have heard that you can set them one tooth off but not sure which way.

It must be you can run it one tooth advanced. I just did new rings on mine about 100 miles ago and havn't had any problems. Just noticed I was missing some power up top...I think this is why.

If you don't hae a manual for your bike, BUY ONE. It has a nice diagram showing the proper way to time your cams.......I guessed once and bent some valves........chris3
