install the pistons and rings dry in clean dry cylinders!leave the plugs out and crank motor over a couple times before starting, this will get oil pressure up and oil where it needs to beB)
here we go again! And for the next confusing step...
The KAW manual says to oil the rings and cylinders prior to installation. MTC does not. The quote is, "Very Important: DO NOT OIL RINGS! By not oiling rings, they will start sealing as soon as engine is started."
Could this be correct?? Install rings dry?
They don't say to oil the cylinders either. I can't imagine installing the cylinders and rings dry. Anyone ever done this before??

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Anyone use silicone around the bottom of the sleeves at the block? I'm not sure what this accomplishes, but it was there when I took it apart. It is a stock cylinder bored/sleeved to 1261cc.

I use automatic transmission fluid on the piston skirts to keep them from scratching for the first few revolutions of the engine. The ATF burns off quickly and won't interfere with sealing. I don't put it on the rings specifically.
