has anyone heard of using gpz1100 cylinders/head on a z1 900 lower case and if so is it worthwhile getting the bigger bore and better head?

From what I recall reading here on Kzr, I don't believe the Gpz head and jugs will fit on the 900 series bottom end but admittedly, my specialty is the 650.

You might want to contact Jay at www.ape.com or Jeff @ www.z1enterprises.com to get the definitive answer.

Jay is a member here on Kzr under the name apejay.

you can use the j-gpz style head but you need to get a cam chain adaptor to make it work.

Still recovering, some days are better than others.
