Does anyone know if an 1982 kz1100 specter block will fit my 1978 kz1000?And how much can you over bore a 1982 1100 spector block?Before resleeving.

"J" series cylinders will not properly fit the early model, 1973-1980 Z1/KZ cases. I also believe some '81 Police models used early Z1/KZ cases and not "J" cases, so be mindfull of that! If I am mistaken, someone please correct me! :whistle:

Maximum recommended overbore with stock 1100 sleeves is 75mm(Wiseco# K1171).

Maximum recommended capacity with stock clyinder block is 78mm(Wiseco# K1261) with new sleeves.

JE Pistons and APE make some very similar offerings as well.

For your '78 KZ1000:

The maximum recommended with stock sleeves is 73mm(1105cc), but opinions will vary about potential overheating issues vs. the 1075cc kit.

The maximum recommended for re-sleeved stock block is 76mm(1197cc) including some minor case cleanup; means more ($$) unless you or a friend can do the work.

Wiseco lists the next size up for '78 KZ1000 as 78mm(1261cc), requiring a "Big Block" and some additional machine work; also more ($$) for the same reasons.:S:pinch:

I am invested in the "J" model powerplant and such. I am sure if you wait a bit, some members with your type of machine will lend some advice!!:cheer:
